Exchanging the cooling liquid and cleaning the cooling liquid tank

You need to exchange the cooling liquid in the following cases:

  • The change interval in the maintenance table has been exceeded.
  • The cooling liquid is soiled.
  • In case of a strong odor from or a biofilm on the cooling liquid.
  • If you use a cooling lubricant: The pH value is below 9.

Preparation

  1. Have ready:

    • Collecting container that can hold approx. 10 l

    • Cleaning brush

    • Water for cleaning the cooling liquid tank

    • Small cleaning brush

    • Carbon pellets and spare fine filter (optional)

    • A mild cleaning agent (optional)

  2. Make sure that sufficient cooling liquid is available.

  3. Close the working chamber door.
  4. Open the multi-purpose compartment.
  5. Pull the cooling liquid tank out of the multi-purpose compartment.
  6. When you tilt the cooling liquid tank, the cover will not prevent the cooling liquid from leaking.

     

Cleaning the strainer basket

  1. Lift the cover, including the strainer basket, off the cooling liquid tank.

  2. Empty the contents of the cooling liquid tank container into the collecting container.

  3. Pull the strainer basket upward out of the cover.

  4.  

  5. Clean the strainer basket:

    1. Tap out the strainer basket into the collecting container.

    2. While rinsing the strainer basket under running water, clean it thoroughly with the cleaning brush.

Cleaning the cooling liquid tank

  1. If you want to clean the cooling liquid tank in the dishwasher, do the following:

    1. Make sure that the all disposal regulations for machining residues are always complied with.

    2. Select a cleaning program with a maximum temperature of 70 °C.

  2. If you want to clean the cooling liquid tank manually, do the following:

    1. Thoroughly clean the cooling liquid tank with the cleaning brush.

    2. Pour the cleaning water into the collecting container.

    3. If you have used a cleaner, make sure that there is no residue of it in the cooling liquid tank.

    • The cooling liquid tank is completely void of liquid, machining and cleaner residues.
  3. Remove dirt and foreign bodies from the coupling (marked green) of the cooling liquid tank and the counterpart in the machine.

Cleaning the multi-purpose compartment and cooling liquid sponge

  1. Thoroughly clean the solid surface in the multi-purpose compartment on which the cooling liquid tank is located.
  2. Dry the surface with a cloth.
  3. If the surface contains a cooling liquid sponge, pull the cooling liquid sponge out of the slot.

     

    • If the sponge is very soiled, exchange it.

    • If the sponge is moderately soiled:

      1. Rinse the sponge under running water.
      2. Wring the sponge out.
      3. Allow the sponge to dry.
      4. Insert the sponge into the slot.

Completing maintenance

  1. Fill in cooling liquid.
  2. Insert the strainer basket into the cover.
  3. Place the cover onto the cooling liquid tank.
  4. Push the cooling liquid tank into the multi-purpose compartment until the tank is properly attached to the machine.
  5. Close the multi-purpose compartment.
